Oak Hill Beef. Oak Hill Angus cattle are born and raised on pasture at Oak Hill Farm. Our beef cattle are free of antibiotics and artificial hormones. We select our beef for tenderness and marbling. Our beef is aged, cut, vacuum-wrapped and frozen at a USDA inspected, custom packing facility. Oak Hill Angus steaks, roasts and ground beef are priced by the pound and sold by the cut. Fresh Vegetables. From May to October, Oak Hill raises both field grown and greenhouse grown crops. Oak Hill Fresh Harvest Email subscribers receive notice of vegetables ready to harvest and can place orders from the email. To be added to the email list, contact us. Vegetables are harvested to fill the orders. Orders may be picked up at the farm. Vegetables include cool weather crops such as cabbage, beets, lettuce and greens, onions, leeks, chard, potatoes, and kale. Warm weather crops include beans, cucumbers, eggplant, melons, peppers, summer squash, tomatoes, winter squash, brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes and herbs such as basil and cilantro. Winter crops include greenhouse lettuces and frozen selections such as sweet potato French fry cuts and butternut cubes.
Hydroponic lettuces are grown using the nutrient film technique (NFT). Lettuce roots are bathed in a gentle flow of nutrient-rich spring water in a controlled greenhouse environment.
Garlic. Garlic cloves are planted each October and harvested the following July. Varieties include French Red, Spanish Roja, Bogatyr, Music, Metechi, Chesnok, and others. Garlic is sold as dried bulbs for eating or planting.
Onions, Leeks, Shallots. Known and loved locally for their sweet yet tangy, onion flavor, Candy onions lend a luscious accent to burgers and other grilled foods, stir-fries, and even desserts. Oak Hill also specializes in storage red and yellow onions, leeks and shallots.
