Brown’s Orchard is hosting a local farm market right next to their retail store. Come for their fresh apples, cider, and applesauce, but stay a bit longer to visit with your local farmers and artisans and check out their fresh vegetables, baked goods, flowers and hand-crafted items in the adjoining building. Brown’s is open 10 am to 5 pm every day except Monday. The Farm Market is each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 pm. through Nov. 18. A great place to pick up something fresh for the dinner table or a holiday gift for someone special. Brown’s Orchard is located at 267 South view Rd. which is 2 miles east of Hickory, Pa off Rt. 50.

Oak Hill Farm will be a there each Saturday with fresh vegetables such as it’s hydroponically grown lettuces, sweet potatoes, fresh vegetable recipe kits, cool season greens and more. We continue to market our fresh vegetables from our farm via our Fresh Harvest weekly email list and at these local farm markets. Tomorrow, Sept. , is the last day of the McDonald Farm market. The Carnegie Farm Market continues on Sundays, noon to 3 pm until end Sept. Starting Sept. 16, Brown’s Orchard in Hickory, Pa is hosting a Saturday farmers market at their retail apple building, 11 am to 2 pm. It runs through Nov. Our 2023 summer offerings currently include: Angus ground beef, sold in 1 lb. vacuum wrapped, frozen packages, 85-90% lean. Prepared in a local, USDA inspected beef processing facility. Antibiotic and synthetic hormone free. $6.50/lb

Hydroponically grown lettuces (Butterhead, Summer Crisp, Oakleaf, and others) offered as heads or as a loose leaf mix in 1/2 lb. bags. $4/bag

Other vegetables as ready for harvest, such as sugar snap peas, mini cabbage, garlic scapes, mixed kales, beet and chard greens for fresh salad or braising.
